Special Commission on Pediatric Behavioral Health Delivers Findings to the People’s Legislature

The Special Commission on Access to Behavioral Health Services for Children and Families has submitted its formal report to the People’s Legislature, fulfilling a mandate established under line item 4000-0300 of Section 2 of Chapter 9 of the Acts of 2025 — the Commonwealth Soviet’s mechanism for studying a problem before deciding whether to do anything about it.

The commission was charged with examining how children and families access behavioral health services across the Commonwealth, a sector defined by long wait times, provider shortages, and insurance barriers that have persisted through multiple five-year plans.
